Nash Nearly Back

Ipswich Town defender Gerard Nash is about to resume training after more than a year our with knee ligament injuries.

The 18 year old defender has had two cruciate ligament injuries and soon after returning from the second injury he suffered medial ligament injury while playing for Towns academy, Gerard is now expected to make a second come back early in the new year.

Nash has said: “It's been frustrating but I've been back training this week and it's going well, the next step will be playing for the Academy but there are only a couple of games left before Christmas so it will be the new year before I start playing matches again.”

Town physio Dave Williams added: “He is doing rehab work on his movement. It is designed to cut down stress on the joints and as ever, Gerard is working very hard at it.

“The medial ligament is not a problem anymore and although Gerard had a cartilage worry for a while, that has cleared up without surgery and he should be back playing again in January.”
