Reaction from Ipswich Town pair Jim Magilton and Kelvin Davis after yesterdays 1-0 win over Brighton at Portman Road.

Magilton: “It was important that we got an early goal. Shefki had a go and got his just rewards. The first-half got a bit messy towards the end and I felt we could have produced a bit more quality. We had a couple of really good chances that we should have put away and at 1-0 it's pretty precarious. They had a couple of half chances towards the end and they were resolute; they came not to lose rather than to win the game. They've had some good results away from home and I thought Steve Claridge played very well for them. Leon Knight caused us a few problems when he came on as well. It was a hard fought three points and it's lovely to be on top of the table.”

Davis: “Any win that puts you top of the League is a great win. We felt that we didn't play as well as we could have done, Brighton made it quite hard for us. We let them off the hook a couple of times. Jason and Bam Bam were terrific and it's nice that we can all contribute and keep a clean sheet. We look more likely to keep clean sheets now than we did before. The atmosphere amongst the lads is bubbling away nicely but we're not getting carried away because there's a long way to go yet.”
