Ipswich Town striker Dean Bowditch is likely to play in Sundays game against Sunderland in place of midfielder Tommy Miller.

Ipswich Town striker Dean Bowditch is likely to play in Sundays game against Sunderland in place of midfielder Tommy Miller.

The 18 year old striker will replace Miller in the Town starting eleven should the midfielder be declared unable to play because of a elbow injury.

Dean is likely to take part in the England Under 19 game tomorrow night but Town have been assured he will only play for 45 minutes at most.

Town manager Joe Royle has said: “I spoke to both Trevor Brooking and the coach, Martin Hunter, and they were very sympathetic.

“They realise Dean is playing first-team football. I'm told this will be the last time England play a Thursday game and this will please a lot of managers whose players are in the squad.”
