Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent has been included in the England under 21 squad for the friendly against Spain this month.

Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent has been included in the England under 21 squad for the friendly against Spain this month.

Darren will be only Ipswich player in the squad as Ian Westlake and Matt Richards have been left out but he will have some company as former Town star Darren Ambrose is also included for the match which takes places on the 16th of November in Spain, Bent will meet up with the rest on Sunday before flying out to Spain.

Bent and England u21 manager Peter Taylor will be hoping that the return of the Bent and Ambrose partnership will keep Bent’s impressive scoring record of 7 goals in 9 appearances.

England Under 21 squad: Lee Camp, Scott Carson, Ross Turnbull, Leighton Baines, Calum Davenport, Daniel Harding, Justin Hoyte, Nicky Hunt, Glen Johnson, Liam Ridgewell ,Michael Dawson, Wayne Routledge, Stewart Downing, James Milner, Gary O'Neil, Jermaine Pennant, Darren Ambrose, Ben Watson, Peter Whittingham, Darren Bent, Carlton Cole, Jonathan Stead.
