Ipswich town manager Joe Royle has today explained why Sandro Grande will not be joining Town after his trial spell at Portman Road.

Ipswich town manager Joe Royle has today explained why Sandro Grande will not be joining Town after his trial spell at Portman Road.

Royle: “I have had a chat with Sandro and told him he is not quite right for us.

“He is a tidy player, has good ability and gets around the pitch well.

“But we are setting high standards here these days and I have said before that our midfield is the best in the division so I want someone who is seriously going to threaten the players in those positions.

“If I bring someone in, I want them to put those players on their toes and at this stage, I don't feel Sandro can do that.”
