Former Ipswich Town academy player Stuart Boardley has joined league one side Torquay United after a short trial period.

Former Ipswich Town academy player Stuart Boardley has joined league one side Torquay United after a short trial.

Boardley had been at Ipswich since age 11 but at the end of his three year academy scholarship he was released although he was expected to sign professional forms at Portman Road.

Stuart was a regular in the town reserve side but never made a appearance for the first team, after signing his short term contract at Plainmoor he is expected to be on the bench for Torquay for their game against Hartlepool.
