Kuqi To Leave?

Ipswich Town striker Shefki Kuqi could be leaving Portman road to join Bundesliga side Hansa Rostock on a free transfer.

The 27 year old joined Ipswich last September on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday and scored 12 goals in 40 appearances for Ipswich, the first being on his debut at Watford and a further 6 for Sheffield Wednesday before he moved to Ipswich.

Ipswich manager Joe Royle has said that: “It's up to Shefki now. He's going to have a look round for a couple of days and make up his mind.

“Shefki wants to try his luck in Germany and I am speaking to clubs about bringing in a striker. We need somebody who is better at keeping the ball up front. There's always a possibility we could have someone new for Saturday, but on the other hand we could have to wait a bit. There are a number of players in whom I am interested, but there has always been one uppermost in my mind.”.

Shefki has said previously that: “We are settled in England and I did not want to uproot and have to learn yet another new culture and new languages and everything.

“I feel I had a good season last year with 18 goals for Ipswich and Wednesday so I have a lot to give and want to do even better this season.”.
