Speaking to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, Newcastle United midfielder Albert Luque insisted he is more than happy to stay at St James' Park and played down speculation of a return to the Primera Liga.
The Spanish press have linked Luque to a possible move to Barcelona as a replacement for Henrik Larsson, but 28-year-old Luque insisted:
"I am happy here and Newcastle are counting on me.
"I have no need to move clubs."Barcelona-born Luque joined the Magpies from Deportivo La Coruna last summer and, while a fan of the Catalan side, believes he would struggle to get a place in the starting line-up.
"It's very difficult to earn a starting place at Barca or Real Madrid because they are the best teams in the world," added Luque.
"With players like Samuel Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi it's very difficult to be in Barca's starting 11."
