Dave Whelan, owner of Wigan Athletic believes Newcastle striker Alan Shearer could become a top manager when he hangs up his boots at St James' Park.
DAVE WHELAN: "The Premiership will certainly miss him and I guess it will be strange not seeing him in a black-and-white shirt after the end of this season.
"But I am convinced that he is the kind of player who will go on to become a top manager. Certainly he will not be lacking in passion.
"I see a lot of Stuart Pearce in Alan Shearer and everybody knows how well he has done since taking over at Manchester City.
"Stuart Pearce has been a wonderful servant to both club and country, and Alan Shearer is the same.
"Yes, Alan Shearer is going to be a huge miss."
