26-year-old Newcastle United midfielder Kieron Dyer has suffered a setback in his long-standing battle against injury and the latest news is that he will not be making a return to action against Arsenal as it was previously hoped.
Dyer has recently been spending time at the British Olympic Medical Centre to try to cure a hamstring muscle problem which has troubled him for two years.
A BOMC spokesman said: "He settled in well but felt a twinge in his hamstring when he was doing some work."
It was understood that Dyer would be returning to training last Monday, but following this twinge (understood to be a hamstring strain), he will be remaining in Harrow at the Medical Centre.
Dyer has only started two Premiership games this season.
