ITS BACK
Before i proceed with the ratings, for the benefit of those that didnt get to see the match i will describe the goals.
Twenty seconds into the second half, the ball was played into Charles Nzogbia, who made a great run down the left. He whipped a peach of a ball in Micheal Owen who was at the near post to apply a superb finish with the outside of his right foot
On 78 minutes Kerion Dyer made a fantstic burst into the box from the right, beating his marker and slipping the ball to little Mickey who applied another equaly impressive right footed finish at the near post.
Not quite 5 minutes after after some inticate passing in around the area the ball was delivered to the right, Ramage hit in a low cross to Alan Sherer, the inevitable finish was applied.
Now ladies and gentel men boys and girls children of all ages its that time you have all been waiting for its akins official player ratings
GIVEN 9/10: His name is in bold as he is my man of the match. After we scored the first goal we absorbed a lot of pressure from West Brom, Shay pulled a magnificent point blank recastion save, from Rob Earnshaw. If that had gone in, i feel we would have struggled to get anything from the game. Best keeper in the prem bar non in my unbiased opinion
Ramage 7/10: Defended very well and was good outlet on the right wing, his delivery could be a bit better but all in all it was another sure footed perfomance from the 21 year old.
Taylor 7/10: Another mature inspiring display from young Taylor, I have come to expect these from him now so he would have to score a hatrick in order for me to be suprised by how good he is.
Boum 7/10: Much improved performance from the skipper for the day, put his best foot forward tody. some of his positioning is a bit dodgey but all in all it was very good.
Baba 7/10: Made some gret tackes on the left, worked well with Charlie on the left.
Solano 7/10 He was in and out of the game, drifted infield and stayed there most of the game. But he was a threat in the final third
Parker: 8.5/10 Great display from Scott, didnt give the ball away once, protected the bck for and broke forwrd and linked up with the attacking play. very good display
Emre: 7/10: Worked hard tackled back, gave the ball away a few times but had a good game
Charles: 7.5/10: Impressive as usual great work down the left and got a very good assist
Ameobi: 6/10 couldnt make the ball stick today, gave a way a few free kicks as opposed to winning them..he was booked for persistent fouling
Owen: 9/10 Scored two great goals would hve won man of the match if i wasnt so impressed by given magnificent game changing save.
subs
Shearer 7/10 great goal
dyer 7/10 looked sharp great assist
bramble 5/10
Great display by out lads today, i was very impressed with a lot of things tody, Givens save, Owens goals, Dyers sharpness, Parkers performance, but the thing that i was most impressed with was the look on Martin the mongs face, as he fancied (or should i say hoped) west brom would get something from the game. He said how unlucky they were about 15 times and he wouldnt praise any of the Newcastles players, without putting a negative spin on it:oD:oD:oD:oD made my day
