Newcastle boss Graeme Souness is still keen on signing 27-year-old Portuguese striker Luis Boa Morte, although Fulham boss Chris Coleman insists that he will not be allowed to leave for anything less than £5million.
The player is contracted at Fulham until 2008, but Souness is understood to be wanting to make the Portugal international his third summer signing - with Scott Parker and Emre being the other two.
The Scot has been keeping an eye on Boa Morte ever since the departure Frenchman Laurent Robert to Portsmouth, and tabled a bid for him back in January, at which Boa Morte signed his new deal.
Both the Fulham player and manager are getting fed up with all the speculation, with the striker saying so himself just last month.
CHRIS COLEMAN: "The talk was of a £3 million bid, but that wouldn't even buy his left foot.
"There's been a lot of nonsense with Newcastle.
"If they want to make a bid, then it's going to have to be north of £5 million."
