Quotes from Yeading's staff regarding the venue of the FA Cup 3rd Round tie. Despite all that has been reported regarding the venue of the game, Yeading's manager Johnson Hippolyte, and commercial director Bill Perryman want the game at SJP - for the money and glamour.
Manager Johnson Hippolyte (aka Drax) said:
"We want to switch it because we can't play it here. Let's get it on at Newcastle."
Hippolyte added:
"I am very happy with the draw but I am just a bit concerned about what the FA are going to do."
Commercial director Bill Perryman said:
"That's unfair. We're not happy with the FA ruling.
"Rules are there to be broken. The financial implications of switching venues is the difference between earning £50,000 at home versus £500,000 at St James' Park.
"An away tie could have secured the future of our club for the next 10 years."
Hippolyte admitted:
"It's a shame it wasn't drawn the other way around. The guys would have loved to have played in front of 50,000 people at Newcastle.
"Unfortunately, with the new FA ruling it looks like there will be a lot of red tape in getting the game moved.
"For us it has taken a little bit of gloss off the tie."
