Chelsea boss Mourinho speaks about Everton teenager Wayne Rooney. The Portuguese coach added that he believes that he will add more to either of the United's currently bidding for him.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said:
"In Newcastle, they have (Patrick) Kluivert, (Craig) Bellamy and (Alan) Shearer.
"Only one or two are playing - no more.
"In Manchester United, when everybody is fit, they have (Ruud) van Nistelrooy, (Louis) Saha, Alan Smith and, again, no more than two are playing.
"So I think he has to choose what is best for his future but there are no problems for us."
Mourinho added:
"He is a good player. A good player is always a good player.
"A good player always improves his team and squad, and gives more solutions to the manager. But I think it's normal.
"Every team thinks big things and a striker can improve the squad and have an answer for the whole season because, although we're at the beginning at the moment, in November, December, there's the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, everything together.
"The team with the best squad will feel more comfortable."
Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd is still confident of landing Wayne Rooney and said:
"I went to see Bill Kenwright yesterday.
"He is a friend but we both know that business is business.
"He has to do what is best for Everton Football Club, just as I have to do my best for Newcastle United.
"Obviously, we don't know what is going to happen, but we certainly have not given up hope of signing Rooney just because Manchester United have come in
"We are still giving it our best shot."
