Leeds United FC have confirmed that Youngster James Milner is well on his way to St James’ Park… and then contradicted themselves.

According to a source Milner arrived in Newcastle today to complete a medical. During his visit he will also complete personal terms seeing him make the switch between Elland Road and St James’ Park for 4M.

Leeds who struggled financially for the best part of last season have repeatedly denied that 18 year old Milner is for sale. However they have been unable to keep the midfielder at Leeds after disagreeing on financial terms.

Milner rejected an offer from Spurs at the end of last season and has willing choose Newcastle to be his destination.

However despite this, the Official Leeds United website released the following;

"Despite all the speculation concerning his future, James Milner has reported in for pre-season training."
