Newcastle United boss Sir Bobby Robson is wanting youngster Darren Ambrose to learn from skipper Alan Shearer and improve his shooting skills. Robson was speaking after the Everton game, and said...

AMBROSE MUST LEARN FOM SHEARER

Robson said: "I wish Darren had taken the chance which came his way early in the second half and made the game safer.

"I have told him he must learn from Alan when it comes to taking a difficult chance.

"Alan's first goal was not an easy chance. The goalkeeper came out to cut the angles for him but he still put the ball through his legs with a wonderful finish."

Robson is also over-the-moon to have Kieron Dyer back in the squad and added:

"Kieron Dyer was manful. I was enamoured with his performance, energy and his running.

"It's probably his first headed goal for the club, but hopefully won't be his last.

"It would be useful if he could go on a goalscoring run. You're always looking for that from midfield players."
