Mackems Confirm Chopra Interest

Mick McCarthy has confirmed that an approach has been made by his club, Sunderland, for Newcastle United striker Michael Chopra - who has however, said he doesn't want to move to his clubs biggest rivals.

CHOPRA WANTED BY SUNDERLAND

McCarthy told The Times: "Michael's a player I've tried to take on loan in the past."

Chopra however, has expressed his reluctance to move to Wearside despite the promise of guaranteed first team action.
