He was fuming after reports about former striker... He was fuming after reports about former striker Carl Cort being labelled as the “invisible man” and Carl Cort didn’t seem impressed either.

The Club have released an official statement reassuring fans that the tension at St James’ Park has been resolved.

"Following reports that Sir Bobby Robson had quit which have appeared in Sunday newspapers, Sir Bobby Robson confirms he has been to see the chairman privately this evening regarding the stories."

"As far as the chairman and manager are concerned, the matter is now resolved amicably and the subject is now closed. Neither will be commenting further on the story."

Cort cost Utd 7million and sold in a 2million transfer to struggling Wolves.

The 26 year old Birmingham striker is set to start against Portsmouth on Saturday.
