WOODY PRAISED

"I saw Sven (Goran Eriksson) before the match. He had come up here especially to see Kieron Dyer play up front. I think he will have liked what he saw," Robson told Skysports.com.

"Jonathan brings composure to the defence, he brings confidence to everyone around him and the players like playing with him.

"And he is, of course, reliable. I told Sven that but he would also have seen that for himself. He will have been impressed because all those qualities shone through against Fulham."

"Now Jonathan just needs to stay on the pitch and there is no reason why he wouldn't," Robson added.

"He was fit for a couple of matches that we didn't play him because we wanted to make sure he was recovering well from his hernia operation.

"They do come back if you return too early. We were very sensible about it."
