The Real United vs the Manc lot

It was Febuary 1972 the last time a Newcastle 1st team won at old Trafford, but then again it was 1972 the last time we won at Southampton as well. Is it the season to fix both those statistics? Newcastle United are likely to be unchanged as we have no new injury worries, from the side that broke the Southampton curse and then beat Leeds.

But it has been a long 30 years since we have had much to celerbrate at old Trafford, and have had to comfort ourselves with the fact that we usually have a shorter journey home, than most of their so called home fans.

The worst news for me for sunday is the choice of referee, who we last met in the 5 - 0 defeat to chelsea, when he awarded Chelsea a penalty depite the 'offence' taking place about four and a half miles from the penalty area and then sent the player off.

Still hopefully he can find his white stick in time for Sunday.

For those unable to attend the game is on Sky Sports.
