Following a fantastic performance against Spurs at St James' Park, where he scored two goals and set up Shearer for two, French winger Laurent Robert wants to end his career at Newcastle United. He said: "All I want to do is to keep playing well for Newcastle.

''I am very, very happy here and just as important so are my wife and two boys - and I would like to finish my career at St James' Park.

"The two goals (against Tottenham), plus another I got in my days with Paris St Germain, are the best three goals I have scored in my career.

"But the one I like the best is my second on Saturday because I had to control the ball on my chest and push it forward before shooting.

"But while I was delighted with my two goals, I was just as happy helping Alan Shearer score his two."
