BUTT RACE

Newcastle United are favourites to land Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt.

Butt is becoming increasingly unsettled at Old Trafford and is even questioning whether boss Sir Alex Ferguson actually rates him anymore.

Spurs, Manchester City and Leicester City are also chasing the England midfielder and "The Sun" claims that Sir Bobby is ready to splash £7 million on Butt next month.

With Gary Speed, 34, now coming to the end of his career, Robson is looking for a new defensive midfielder.

The Mirror says that Foxes boss Micky Adams is keen to speak with Man. Utd. about a loan move for Butt in January.
