BOWYER COMMENTS

Newcastle United midfielder Lee Bowyer insists that the Toon Army can (and will) take the Premiership by storm over the next few months following a humiliating 5-0 thrashing by Chelsea.

There need to be downbeat according to Bowyer, who believes that he and his fellow Magpie team-mates can learn from London's "Chelsea Experience".

Bowyer explained: "The manner of that defeat was deeply disappointing.

"But all we can do is concentrate on our next game, stay positive and prepare ourselves properly.

"A big gap has developed between the top three and the rest.

"But, although nobody thinks we can challenge, you can never say never in football - and that result has made us even more determined to succeed.

"If we could put another good run together, we have every chance of climbing up the table, and who knows what might happen after that?"
