WOODY PRAISED

Newcastle United reserve-team coach Tommy Craig has been speaking to the press - praising the attitude of centre-half Jonathon Woodgate.

He told the Evening Chronicle, "I have to say that Woody's attitude against Middlesbrough last week was absolutely superb and he was a tremendous influence on the young boys in our team.

"He is a full England international and a £9 million player yet he approached that Reserve game in just the same as he would a Premiership match.

"He was keen to play and I've got to say he was a fantastic example to the kids."
