Newcastle United winger Nobby Solano has insisted that he loves the club and has "no intention" of asking for a move in January, despite being linked with moves to Tottenham, Celtic, and Barcelona.

Newcastle United winger Nobby Solano has insisted that he loves the club and has "no intention" of asking for a move in January, despite being linked with moves to Tottenham, Celtic, and Barcelona.

NOBBY SAID: "I need to feel that he has confidence in me. Before the Basel game he (Sir Bobby Robson) challenged me to show what I am capable of and I think I did all I could.

"But it's out of my hands and I just don't know what will happen. We have enjoyed a lot of success together at Newcastle in the last two or three years and I still don't know why things have changed.

"Our relationship has always been good and, if I am selected this weekend, I won't let the manager, my fellow players or our fans down. I love this club and I am always proud to wear the black-and-white shirt."
