Newcastle United host Hull City today and once again are not without their injuries. However caretaker manager Chris Hughton does have a selection problem on his hands which is rare at NUFC. Hughton will be without, Joey Barton who is suspended for 6 matches after disciplinary action by the FA for his assault on former team-mate Dabo and Obafemi Martins who is suffering with a groin injury.

Also missing are Damian Duff who has an injured knee, Mark Viduka who is yet to feature this season due to an Achillies problem and Jose Enrique who has a hamstring problem, but Habib Beye could feature despite a worry over his fitness.

Hughton's biggest problem is the injury Jonas Gutierrez suffered mid-week whilst in action for Argentina. Gutierrez flew back from the International match against Peru with a shoulder injury which is yet to be fully assessed, however he could be out for at least 4 weeks.

Hughton will welcome the return of Geremi and Claudio Cacapa after both were passed fit this week, he will also have new signings Xisco and Gonzalez at his disposal, while Martin's injury means Shola Ameobi is likely to get another chance to partner Michael Owen up front.

Hull City are without injuries and will gladly welcome back George Boetang, Anthony Gardner, Marlon King and Sam Ricketts who have all recovered in time for the match. Also available are new signings Kamil Zayatte and Paul McShane.

Daniel Cousin will not play due to suspension.

Hull head to Newcastle on the same number of points but having conceded 7 goals in their 3 games this season, scoring only 3, whilst Newcastle host them having conceded 4 goals and scored 2. Both sides have won one, drawn one and lost one and both teams play today on the back of heavy defeats. Arsenal beat Newcastle 3-0 at the Emirates on their last outing, whilst Wigan thrashed Hull 5-0 on their trip to the Kingston Communications Stadium.

That for me is really hard to take, Hull City, a team who have never played in the premier league coming to us, winning and get to rub it in. I'm sick of this!

losing at home to hull this bad frist hlf we did ok then nothing till zog moved up the field and owen did too but it was poor by us in the end and hull got a soft pen but they played better than us

Zog's talent is wasted, the way he's used in this squad. I'll bet he's had about enough of NUFC.

This was quite possibly the worst performance I've seen from the Toon in about fifteen years. Pathetic.
