We take a look back at the careers of some of our more obscure former players.

Full name            Gareth John Williams

Date of birth      16 December 1981 (age 28)

Place of birth     Glasgow, Scotland

Height                  6 ft 2 in (1.88 m)

Position               Centre Midfielder

Who is he?

Gareth Williams was an average central midfield player that caused uproar when he moved to Leicester City whilst claiming that they were a bigger club than Forest. He is not quite as bad as Kris Commons due to the fact that we don’t care about Leicester and they play in a bowl of crisps.

He spent three years at Forest whilst making 142 appearances and scoring 9 goals.

Where is he now?

After spending three years at Leicester City he was offloaded to Watford where made only three appearances before being released. He is now without a club at 28 years of age and what was once a promising career has turned to dust.

Although I would like to say that this is all down to him leaving the great Nottingham Forest, the real reason for his fall from grace is a cruciate ligament injury sustained in 2007. Oh, and karma.

He recently failed trials at Major League Soccer Clubs San Jose Earthquakes and New England Revolution.

Do Say: Yes he’s a Judas but it could be worse. He could be Kris Commons!

Don’t say: Left us for massive local rivals Leicester City! Judas!

Dirty post. He was a decent midfielder looking to have a career. He failed due to a injury caused by foul play. So what? Your post reveals a lot more of your problems than those of poor Gareth.
