Tranmere’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day has been postponed because of a frozen pitch as a result of the current cold weather conditions across the country.

Following an inspection this morning, Rovers’ home Boxing Day clash against Sheffield Wednesday has been postponed because of a frozen pitch at Prenton Park.
The postponement of this game now means that five Rovers games have been called off in December so far including the double postponement of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match at home to Huddersfield before it eventually went ahead a few weeks ago.

Despite the pitch being covered for some time in the past few weeks, the temperatures have been so low that the pitch has once again been deemed unplayable and the game will be re-arranged for a future date.
Meanwhile the away game against Swindon Town which was scheduled to take place last Saturday has been re-arranged for Tuesday 25th January with a 7.45pm kick-off. Any news on the re-arrangement of the Exeter and Sheffield Wednesday games along with news on the two upcoming away games at Brentford and Rochdale, will announced here on Total Tranmere as we get it so stay tuned.
