Leyton Orient Vs. Tranmere Rovers Match Discussion Thread
By Total Tranmere
November 16 2009
Throughout the season we will provide you with a platform to discuss each and every Rovers match whether it be the build-up to kick-off or post match analysis so here we bring you the Match Discussion Thread for Tuesday evening's game away to Leyton Orient in the FA Cup first round replay for a place in the second round at home to Aldershot.
Leyton O V Tranmere
Kick-Off 7.45pm at Brisbane Road
For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match anaylsis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.
Tranmere of course make the away trip to East London to face Leyton Orient on Tuesday evening in the FA Cup first round replay which will see the winners play host to Aldershot in the second round, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.
still waiting for Team news, just hope Les doesn't change much from the side that did well at Norwich, and I know they didn't get the right result but I think that the way the lads played was something to focus on and build
As stated above the first half was pretty poor with Tranmere putting in a hard working 45 minutes chasing everything down which we haven't often seen this season but at the same time not creating a single decent chance whilst Daniels had to make about five saves.
Second half was mixed with them having a decent spell and then us doing the same.
The goal was a shocker from their point of view but the highlight was Thornton scoring right in front of us but then seeing it disallowed for a foul on Daniels.
Barnett and McLaren didn't play that well in midfield and Man of the Match was between Bakayogo, Goodison and Curran but I'm going to give it to Goodison who kept it together for the defence as a unit.
I don't care if he played like an 80 year old, he's got a goal that puts us into the next round and could possibly earn us a big tie, should we happen to beat Aldershot. I've got to say I wasn't too hopeful, but I'm obviously delighted with the result and hopefully this can start a good cup run for us which would be financially beneficial.
It's great also, because Sean Thornton was saying that Leyton Orient would win back at their place in the Echo the other night!
Well done boys! Here's for 3 points from them on Saturday too!
Journeyman79 Fantastic result tonight that really shapes our season. Get the new man in NOW and kick on on the back of this result.
PJ, you cannot rest on your laurels now. Lets get cracking!
Well it just may be that the lads are coming together, starting to settle ! playing with and for each other, by all acounts a good team performance on Sat and a great result tonight.
I for one (as I've said before) don't beleive in change for change sake ! Les is a sound character, he'll just get on with it what ever his Title, I hope that things are left as they are ! I would hate to get another man in a new way of thinking, new plans ! there is no one better qualified IMO to deal with the players at the club and the situation than the lads in charge now !

I see your point but I disagree. From what I hear Tranmere were terrible last night and only got through with a stroke of luck.
Les is doing a better job than Barnes did, but its still not good enough. The odd win is great, but it ant gonna keep us up. And i still believe with the right man we can achieve mid-table this season.
We were far from awful so I'm not sure where your information came from mate?
Orient are a poor team and proved that in both games in the Cup but yesterday was a decent enough performance regardless of opponent and I just hope it wasn't a one off fluke and that things are turning a little.
ha ha dont cry sub , u are negative tho , well done lads ,with welsh 2 come back id drop mclaren an keep ash in there , get welsh back in there 2 make it more solid , just need the strikers 2 start puttin away a few chances!!
There's actually a brief story on BBC website today from Daniels, saying we need to Cut out the errors if were to stay up. He's a young lad and experience was what was needed but Barnes didn't have a clue, Daniels does tho care and is willing to work hard to secure our league 1
status.
He does have a way tho of finding trouble like no other keeper I know lol, even the other night I noticed their goal involved another bump.. thankfully it went our way. For once. We need a miracle to turn round club right now, however a feel only a change in luck could be a big step to staying up.
