Tranmere Rovers forward Ian Moore today insisted that he thinks his former club will be in with a shout for promotion by the end of the campaign ahead of Leeds United's visit to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Moore, who was a fans favourite at Elland Road, left the club for Hartlepool United before returning to his hometown club Tranmere in January 2008.

Moore ironically scored on his debut for Tranmere against Leeds at Elland Road where Rovers won 2-0 but admits he regrets over-celebrating.

Moore who has been arguably one of the most consistent performers this season for Rovers told BBC Radio Merseyside:

"It's a good set-up and they'll be in the shake-up at the end of the season."

"It was a superb debut for me, I couldn't have asked for a bigger game and I was delighted to get a goal."

"I think I need to apologise a little bit to the Leeds fans for overdoing my celebrations."

"It was a debut goal for me at the club I started my career with and sometimes you do get a bit carried away when you score."

Interesting to see him apologising for the celebration which riled the Leeds fans so much last February.

I still think he will get booed this time around though!

I like Ian Moore.

Always worked hard, never stopped running, he was and is a bit of a cult hero at Leeds.

Shame other footballers in higher leagues don't have his professionalism and outlook.

Good bloke.

Ian Moore Moore Moore!

Yep - he was sh*te for us but always gave 100% - had some of the better players in the team given the same effort, we wouldn't now be in the 3rd tier.
