Coca-Cola League One at Bloomfield Road

The Superwhite Army will head for the Seaside this Easter Saturday as the Whites take on Blackpool at Bloomfield Road in a game which could either end or prolong the interest in Rovers season depending on the result.

After two straight defeats, Rovers need a win and nothing less if they are to maintain faint hopes of a play-off spot at the end of the season.  A defeat would mean a realistic end to Rovers play-off chances although mathematically it may still be possible to get there.

The odds are stacked against Rovers, who have registered two wins and four defeats in their last six matches compared to their hosts who have lost just one of their last six games and have won four of those games.

Blackpool’s home form has been erratic of late with a run of straight three defeats followed up with a win, a draw and a win.  Away from home Rovers have lost four and won two of their last six.

In the last meeting of the two teams earlier this season, Rovers triumphed 2-0 thanks to goals from Chris Greenacre and Steve Davies in either half.

Last season, there was no separating the teams in either League meeting with a 2-2 draw at Prenton Park followed up a few months later by a 1-1 draw at Bloomfield Road with both goals coming in the final ten minutes of the game.

Delroy Facey looked to have sealed a win for Rovers nine minutes from time as he put them 1-0 up in injury time, Calvin Zola lost possession in the Blackpool half and the home side broke away to equalise through Clarke.

For those making the trip, get behind the lads more than ever and enjoy the game!
