Leeds moved to secure 4 more signings last night as the takeover saga nears conclusion. Andy Gray re-signed after impressing on trial, and Jamie Ashdown joined as back up goalkeeper. They were joined by Luke Varney and Rodolph Austin (subject to work permit).
Most af these are seen to be squad players, although Austin is a player Warnock has been after for a while, and is expected to be a first team player. Warnock has said that some significant signings are yet to come...
This all seems to point towards the conclusion of the takeover saga. I'm led to believe that it will actually be announced tomorrow - around 8 weeks after it first came to light.
The saga has gone on long enough , none of us have any nails left , mine are long gone ......lets hope for an announcement tomorrow , and then get ready for lift off !!!
Well it all seems to be happening, afew more signings, takeover moving on hopefully, sun is out for a change and I hope you are right about the takeover in time before the season kicks off. MOT
I am always very optimistic, but I am sorry to say that I have grave reservations about both the takeover and the team rebuilding. When three out of the four new signings are seen as squad players, then we appear to be building a squad, not a first team. Warnock appears to be working within the terms of reference Ken Bates has handed to all his managers, since Blackwell. The new owners, if they materialize tomorrow, on in five years time, do not seem to be looking at next season as the one for promotion. May be they are right: building a team capable of promotion takes a couple of years.
Got up this morn about 5,,turned on talk sport just as they went to their man who was the first to tell them about the takeover in forest .Mike graham said he now has more news about the leeds takeover. He reckons it,ll be done within 2 wks,,,BUT,,this is when i spilt the coffee.Strong rumour over there that sven will takeover from warnock,,,,and also a very well thought of manager over there is Peter taylor.Lets hope he knows nothing eh.
I am glad my tea was on the table when I read the names of sven and peter taylor. I think, though, it may be only an old pal act.. something to remind clubs that these two former managers are without clubs at the moment.
The fact that this person knew about the Forest takeover does not mean that he should know about our takeover, if any. Perhaps he knows nothing. Therefore, he gives a long shout: within two weeks. It is now more than four weeks since we were told that the deal is done and would be completed within a few days. I am beginning to think that there is no takeover.
