Leeds v Blackpool - preview

Grayson at Blackpool

By Andy Baggott
November 1 2011

Leeds face Blackpool tomorrow night, in a game that pitts manager Simon Grayson against his former club.  Leeds are in pretty good form at the moment, despite results maybe not reflecting that.

Leeds have been thwarted by some poor finishing, some dodgy defending, and some inspired goalkeeping in recent weeks.

Tomorrow, Leeds are likely to leave out Darren O’Dea and bring in Paddy Kisonorbo.  The other changes Grayson might make are Lloyd Sam, who is pushing for Danny Pugh’s spot, and Lucciano Becchio, who is battling with Andy Keogh.

OS and other media say that o'Dea is out for blackpool game and a doubt for leicester game. a bit of concern with O'Dea gone back to celtic for medical assessment. hope it doesn't cut his loan spell short. Had thought he might be a permanent signing in January

O'Dea returns to celtic

blackpool defence were playing well and not conceding much up to the last few games. Going for a 2-1 win. Snoddy back in a better vein of form and mccormack due a goal. Not fussed who scores as long as it's 3 points.

It's time that Becchio found his way into the starting XI. Keogh is just a poor mans Luciano. Kisnorbo for O'Dea will be a good change too, get that older head alongside Lees at the heart of defence. The two could form an outstanding partnership together.
Not sure about Pugh for Sam though. Attacking wise it strengthens us but defensively we are weaker for it. Maybe a 'horses for courses' approach between them for the season would be a good approach.

Leeds FTW

I'd be slipping the likes of Vayrynen, Becchio & Kisnorbo in for Pugh, Keogh & O'Dea. Forssell has gotta be worth a bench shout tonight. There's gotta be more to see from him & Vayrynen...

I agree vics like the look of varynen, has that guile and comfort on the ball good enough for a prem outfit when 100% fit.

I think Forssell has the potential to be quality in this division!

Some of the things hes done in the very short time hes been on the pitch shows hes hungry and knows where the goal is.

If i was in charge id be bringing him on in games for game time with a view to starting him after a while!

SG wouldn't spot potential if it smacked his 5hag-piece(s) in the f.anny (Sm22)
