Leeds were thwarted several times on Wednesdays transfer deadline when deasl fell through at the last hurdle. In an incredibly frustrating day, United were unable to tie up any signings, despite having money to spend.
The question has to be asked as to why these were all left to the last day - giving little room to look at alternative targets. The reason seems to be that clubs hang on to their players to the last minute, and won't let one player go until they sign the player they want. It's a big tranfer chain, and if one part fails - several deals can be scuppered.
Leeds are expected to make some moves when the loan window opens next week - with the idea of getting players with a view to signing them in January at the next transfer window...
Well it was pretty poor stuff, we had all summer and should have anticipated that Gradel could go (they said so themselves).
Having said that i'm already looking forward to what kind of players (quality?) Grayson will bring in on loan or freebies without a contract. If he screws those up...
The team and fans need something of a moral boost!
