COPPELL SIGNS NEW DEAL

Reading Manager Steve Coppell has signed a new 1 year contract with the club.

The former Crystal Palace, Manchester City, Brentford and Brighton Manager had his previous contract due to expire at the end of the current season.

But Chairman John Madejski has been very impressed with Coppell since he made the move from the South Coast over 18 months ago and has decided to reward him with a new deal, regardless of what division the Royals are in next season.

With Coppell at the helm, the Royals supporters may have not seen the football once witnessed once under Alan Pardew and Mark McGhee but have been treated to seeing Coppell take the club to its highest ever league position, as well as seeing some nail biting action.

The Royals currently lie in 5th place, 2 points clear of 7th place West Ham. Steve Coppell takes his side to Championship leaders Sunderland this Saturday who'll be looking to make it an amazing 9 league wins in a row.

1871 Royals would like to wish Steve all the best!
