Cardiff City continue to defy the odds and are maintaining a possible play off position. Home wins are being achieved, but the public are not attending in numbers. Saturdays win brought three more points but even with over 1,000 visting fans the crowd was only 11,851.

I've been watching the club since 1974, and I can honestly say after yet another home win it is dreadful stuff. David Jones has built a team who are gathering points but no friends as they grind out results they really don't deserve. Today was worse than previous efforts and the final whistle was a blessed relief.

Struggling Wednesday were denied a point they deserved, and once again it was a backs to the wall job for Cardiff who hung onto a lead to claim all three points, but the mood of the majority of the fans was gloomy. "It feels like a defeat even though we won again." "No wonder the crowds are so low it was poor" were a couple of quotes I heard from fellow supporters on Sloper Road.

The manager will point to our strong league position but many will point to the lack of support his team are receiving from the fans who are simply not turning up in numbers. Any fan who was there today will be thinking twice about the next home game unless he's already bought his ticket.

People were talking amongst themselves as yet another dour defensive display and woeful finishing plus some super saves from Neil Alexander ensured our play off aspirations were maintained.

The days highlight was the presentation to the Wednesday fans in respect of the supporters who recently lost their lives in a car crash returning home from a game at Coventry - nice gesture well done to all involved.

As for the game, like recent home performances I am not saying any more.

We won 1-0.  Cameron Jerome got the winner from close range in the first half in front of the Canton Stand. 

The trip to Wolves next week will be very interesting!
