At the moment, would the Cardiff Corries even have him? With not even an ounce of confidence in sight, Andy Campbell is NOT wanted by Doncaster Rovers as his loan move looks set to be an unsuccessful venture.

I’m starting to feel sorry for Andy Campbell. He is a player who has the ability to play in the Football League championship, yet as his confidence continues to nose-dive mid-table League One sides don't want the players services.

 

Campbell was sent on loan to Doncaster Rovers in the hope he could pick up some additional fitness, and find his goalscoring credentials. Yet after 3 games without a goal for the Yorkshire club, his morale is on the downward slope and Donny boss and former Bluebirds defender Dave Penney has announced he does not intend bringing the 2002 Playoff hero to Belle Vue on a full-time basis.

 

Doncaster supporters are desperate to bring a new attacker to the club, yet they are yet to be impressed with Campbell. Perhaps his high wages have put Rovers off or perhaps it's because, at the moment, the ex-Middlesbrough star would do well to hit a barn door with a beach ball.

 

“We are still looking to sign someone."

 

"But not Andy - he's just come out to get a few games under his belt.”

"We do need to bring a striker in though. We've been looking for a long time and we'll keep on looking." 

 

It’s almost enough to make you feel for the former England under-21 forward – then that penalty against Leeds creeps right back into my head!
