After Lennie Lawrence picked up the manager of the month award for January, Daniel Gabbidon has followed him onto the Football League Championship new year honours list! The Welsh international has been rewarded for a solid January at centre-half with the player of the month accolade.

Gabbidon impressed the City faithful as 2005 got underway. Solid in defence, the Bluebirds conceded just two Championship goals in four fixtures as the threat of relegation started to dissolve. It was a month where Gabbidon also stayed at Ninian Park, despite months of speculation linking him with a move away during the transfer window.
