Jody Morris' move to Cardiff City has collapsed. It is believed Morris checked out of his Cardiff hotel last night, after talks with his agent. The midfielder was half-way through his medical at Ninian Park, but now looks set to join Leeds United on a free transfer.

Jody Morris' move to Cardiff City has collapsed.

The former Chelsea and England Under-21 midfielder was half-way through his medical at Ninian Park, and was expected to complete his move to Ninian Park within the next day or so, but in a shock U-turn, now looks set to sign for Leeds United.

Morris is believed to have checked out of a Cardiff hotel last night, following talks with his agent.

"It has come as a complete shock, totally out of the blue." said City boss Lennie Lawrence, stunned by the news of Morris' departure.

It is believed than Morris will undergo his medical at Elland Road on Thursday, and should sign for the Yorkshire outfit by the weekend.
