Last night Charlton Athletic reserves opend up a 6 point lead over arch rivals Crystal Palace in the Barclycard Premier Reserves league with a 2-0 win over Leicester City reserves last night. However, the win was marred by the early diparture of Kevin Lisbie as he was sent off with 25 minutes to go. Although this match saw the return of injury sticken Kevin Lisbie and Chris Perry it was not all good news on the night. Kevin Lisbie was dismissed in his first game back from his injury in the 65th minute

In the first half charlton created plenty of chances to put the game beyond Leicester at half time. However, this was not the story throughout the match, in the second half what seemed to be an entirely new Leicester side emerged and pushed Charltons backs against the wall.

Matters were not helped when Kevin Lisbie was dismissed for raising his hands to Alan Sheehan's neck after the Leicester player had synically hacked the Charlton striker down from behind. Sheehan too was later to see red after yet another rash challenge on Danish keeper Andersen.

After this second dismissal 10 minutes after Lisbie had been sent off did the home side mount anything in the second half. Graham Stuart opend the scoring for charlton in the 8th minute from the penalty spot scoring his 6th goal in 6 reserve matches. However the match was not killed off untill the 87th minnute when Sam tapped in from cloase range after a sublime Varney cross.

The action didnt stop there, there was enough time for Leicester to rattle Andersens near post in the dieing seconds of the match before the referee finally blew the final whistle.

No fewer then five Charlton Senior players were involved last night and if it were not for the heroics of charltons new danish international Stephan Anderson Charlton could have been blushing come the final whistle.
