18. Ali Gerba

Position: Forward

Date of Birth: 04/09/1981

Nationality: Canadian

Previous clubs: Montreal Impact, Miami Fusion, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Toronto Lynx, GIF Sundsvall, IFK Goteborg, Odd Grenland (loan), AC Horsens (loan), FC Ingolstadt 04

Much travelled striker Ali joined the club in the summer of 2008 with an eye-catching international goalscoring ratio of one in every two matches.

The early days of his Dons career were interrupted by international duty for Canada, but Dons fans' appetites were whetted by a stunning volley he netted against Sven Goran Eriksson's Mexico.

Upon his return Ali found himself in and out of the side due to the form of Sam Baldock and Aaron Wilbraham, but maintained a one in two ratio despite the lack of continuity in the side, proving himself to be a genuine goalscoring threat.

Ali is a powerful runner, hard worker and a fantastic finisher, but sometimes lets himself down aerially. In terms of technical ability he is a totally different player inside and outside of the box; in it he is a predatory striker that matches up with any in the division, but outside it his link-up play could improve, although on occasion he shows some true quality.
