16. Jason Puncheon

(on loan from Plymouth Argyle)

Position: Midfielder

Date of Birth: 26/06/1986

Nationality: English

Previous clubs: Wimbledon, MK Dons, Fisher, Lewes, Barnet

Wide midfielder Jason returned to the club on loan from Plymouth Argyle, after leaving Milton Keynes in 2006.

Clearly talented but with a reputation as something of a troublemaker, Punch was released under Danny Wilson and after short spells with Fisher and Lewes, England C and Barnet manager Paul Fairclough showed his knack for spotting non-league gems by bringing Puncheon to the Bees in the summer of 2006.

After becoming recognised as one of the most gifted players in League Two, Jason eventually got his move to a higher level when Paul Sturrock paid £250,000 to take him to Plymouth Argyle. Despite the big fee Punch couldn't maintain a place in the first team and moved back to Milton Keynes, initially on loan with whispers of a permanent deal at the end of the season.

A matured player, Jason can cause the best of defences problems with a superb touch and excellent range of passing, although he can occasionally let his eye for goal get the better of him when a pass might be a better option. Comfortable on both flanks or through the middle, Dons fans would love to see him stay for longer in Milton Keynes but Pete Winkelman will need to get his cheque book out to make it happen.
