6. Sean O'Hanlon

Position: Defender

Date of Birth: 02/01/1983

Nationality: English

Previous clubs: Everton, Swindon

At £175,000, a fee decided by tribunal, Sean is one of the most expensive members of the current squad. Few would argue, however, that the service he has given since signing in the summer of 2006 have made him well worth it.

O'Hanlon instantly became a regular at the heart of the Dons defence under Martin Allen, a trend that continued under Paul Ince and then Roberto Di Matteo. His partnership with Danny Swailes in the 2007/08 season was watertight, and although it was Swailes that was recognised in the divisional team of the season, there really is so little difference between the two in terms of quality.

Also a threat from set-pieces, O'Hanlon contributed four league goals in each of his first two seasons, as well as the second goal in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory at Wembley.
