1. Nathan Abbey

Position: Goalkeeper

Date of Birth: 11/07/1978

Nationality: English

Previous clubs: Luton, Chesterfield, Northampton, Stevenage, St Albans, Hayes, Boston, Leyton Orient (loan), Bristol City, Torquay, Brentford

Goalkeeper Abbey was brought to the club in the summer of 2007 to address the goalkeeping crisis Paul Ince faced as the new Dons manager.

After the 2006/07 season's disastrous pair of Adolfo Baines and Lee Harper, it looked like Abbey would become the Dons' first choice 'keeper until the signing of Willy Gueret on the opening day of the season.

It's fair to say that Nathan came to Milton Keynes with a bit of a tasty relationship with the Dons fans, following some antics in front of the Cowshed while playing for Torquay. But despite rarely playing, the way he has handled himself while waiting for a chance in the team, as well as the solid performances he has given when there, have won the Dons faithful over.

After impressing on trial Abbey signed a two-year deal, which was extended by a further year by new manager Roberto Di Matteo, keeping him in Milton Keynes until June 2009.
