Barnsley will look to end a bruising month with a much-needed win when they host high-flying Oxford at Oakwell this weekend.
The Reds sit lowly in the League One table and haven't won in just under two months in all competitions.
Striker Ben Hamed Toure has returned to training after a period away with compassionate leave however will not be involved on Saturday.
Head coach Stendel said: “Since the start of October, he’s not really trained, and this is a little bit difficult to say he is ready for Saturday.
“But it’s good that he’s back.
“He trained the first time with the team (on Wednesday) for the most part of the training session, but I think for Saturday it’s not really possible.
“It is hard for us because everybody knows he was our big striker signing in summer but he was not in the last four games.
“But we work with him and I hope he’s really quick back in the squad.”
Daniel Johnson has also been in training and could make the squad to face Oxford.
The U's are currently third in League One, and have not lost in nine games in all competitions.
They are managed by former Arsenal and Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey who joined the club in the summer.
The last time the two sides played was the 23/24 season where both teams finished in the play-offs, with Oxford winning at Oakwell and Barnsley winning at The Kassam.
The two clubs have played 29 times, with Barnsley winning 15 and losing eight.
