Barnsley will look at end an eight-game winless run when they visit Luton Town on Tuesday night.
The Reds dropped into the bottom four after a home defeat to Cambridge on Saturday, which highlighted their recent struggles.
The reality of the situation Barnsley is in needs to be realised, as a relegation battle seems to be on the horizon with a young inexperienced squad.
When asked if goalkeeper Cieran Slicker could play tomorrow, Daniel Stendel said: “Good question, we will see.”
Ziyad Larkeche and Makenzie Kirk have been training and could be involved tomorrow at Kenilworth Road.
Ben Hamed Toure may return later in the week.
As for opponents Luton, they currently sit in 16th place with 11 points from nine games.
It’s been an inconsistent start for Jack Wilshere’s side, who have scored 17 goals but also conceded the same amount.
They lost at MK Dons last weekend giving them their first win of the season, in a match which produced some sensational goals.
Tuesday night’s fixture is the first of three-in-a-row at home for the Hatters, who have former Barnsley players Mads Andersen, Jordan Clark and Devante Cole.
The Reds have former Luton midfielder Cameron McGeehan.
Last season, Barnsley won 5-0 at Oakwell in November before losing 2-1 at Kenilworth Road in April.
The clubs have met 67 times with Barnsley winning 29 and losing 28.
