I`m reasonably optimistic that we wont get beat, 1-1 or a sneaky 2-1 win on the back of tuesday night

A point would be no bad thing. We started very slowly at Northampton and Cambridge and gave both sides far too long on the ball. In the second half on Tuesday there was at last some desire and hounding of the Cambridge players. Power wanted the ball and though he too often gave it away, at least showed he wanted to try and play. Get behind the lads all. It will be ugly but it will not suit Burton, and who knows a win might not be impossible...

With Jennings suspended for this one, it gives M.A the opportunity to try a new midfield pairing. We have struggled badly when Power and Jennings have both under performed. Time for an enforced change in the middle.
Hopefully whoever gets the nod in Jennings place, they will seize the opportunity and give Adams some food for thought.

This change could be what the doctor ordered?

Hopefully the crowd will get behind the team & if we don't win they won't boo the team,we don't expect to beat the league leaders,a draw would be a decent result, but if we don't get a result we should look at it as a game we expect not to win & support the team, don't dent their confidence just as they get it back

i like MA and i want him to succeed and stay but i think his dodgy recruitment has left us woefully short of center midfield options

For anyone who follows the Live Updates on Twitter and/or Facebook I'm afraid it's a limited service tomorrow due to be being away and not actually at the game.

I will simply be providing goal updates and half time and full time scores.

This also applies to tomorrow morning's home Youth Game which will again be score updates only instead of the usual more in-depth service.

Whilst Burton are top ( by I think 5 points}, I seem to recall so were Shrewsbury before we beat them.

A point would be a good result but, more importantly a continued improvement in the level of the team performance, is equally important.

Think this is our toughest test this season so far, and i dont think we will get anything from it. Especially with Jenno out. Be more than happy with a point. 0-0.

Defensively awful today that said, the turning point IMO was the penalty miss. As soon as it happened you could see the deflation begin to creep in the side.

Akins was sold to Stevenage for £120,000? I believe, so we didn't let him go. He caused problems all afternoon, was strong challenged for everything.

Iain Hume has been frozen out of the team, FACT.
Doesn't suit Adams style of play. When Adams has gone and we are in the conferance he will be playing for us once he gets back from India, loves the club.

Don't understand the negativity after today's game. Yes we got beat 4-1 but nobody can say that they deserved it, it was'nt a 4-1 game. If Max had scored the pen and their lad had got the red he deserved then it's entirely possible we could have gone on to score 4. That was probably the best we've played all season, the lads' confidence is starting to come back. The defence was still shaky but it's not going to get better overnight but it will come. We could'nt have asked much more from the lads than what they gave us today. If we keep playing like that and improving then we will get the wins we need to stay up. Booing the lads off and coming on here every week saying "we're definately down now" is'nt helping anyone. Let's get behind them from the 1st minute 'til the last every game. Come on whites! Ubi fides ibi lux et robur.

as soon as the penalty was missed we fell apart.
No brains in the team.
No outlet ball anywhere on the park.
Ihieweke- not sure but how many times were his passes down the wing cut out.
Ball control - where they playing on a diffferent pitch, or with a different ball?
As usual second to almost every ball.
Astounding difference between the teams as regard movement off the ball for throw ins.
Ball definitely out before first goal, but in for thee third goal.
Hume not fit - Hugill out of breath after 15 minutes!!

Why do are players wait for the ball, several times when a ball is played over to them they stand and wait instead of moving towards the ball to pick it up and all they do is lose it or have it pinched from under their nose's

There is just no movement in the team their like statues theirs more movement in John Kings statue outside the ground arms in the air saying I don't believe it.

A bit gutted about this.

The penalty miss was an important moment, as was the rebound Akins scored with.

I also heard at the time Akins was sold for £75,000.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Hume has been saying things about Adams to people in the club allegedly, people have got to realise we haven't had a settled defence all season,as soon as we get someone back, someone else is injured

I thought the team formation was wrong today. I appreciate that we had several midfielders missing but I expected MA to stick with the 4-5-1 formation that was successful at Cambridge, particularly as Burton are in a rich vein of form. Having said that, I agree with FairKop's comments above about the performance. It was one of the better performances of the season that was let down by yet again some abysmal defending. We don't seem to have a reliable central defender at the club. Donacien is probably the best but he is better at wing back. I certainly don't go along with the notion that we are already relegated as there are still 8 games to play, but unless MA can sort the central defence out, then that alone could be our downfall.

Beacuse they are poor passes in the first instance coupled with the fact we have 11 individuals out there with no understanding.

We got beat by a team who are top of the league and we pushed them close (penalty miss was crucial) was not too dissatisfied with performance. Linesman on main stand side was pants and missed so much. We go again v the wombles

I agree we were in it up to the penalty miss, then fell apart. The lino was terrible, blatant offside for their 2nd goal. Ball out of play loads of times and was missed. Defense is very shakey for us though, teams seem to just pass right through us with ease. ~We are still right in the mix though, and still not in the relegation zone after a 4-1 defeat!. Got to keep the faith, all we can do.

I can understand your sentiment but how many times have we said we didn't derserve it...in my opinion far to many to say we were just unlucky ..and yes if.Max had but the pen away as he should have done ..things may have turned out different?. but we have been saying that all season...The truth of the matter is that we are just not good enough ...Hughill I am sure is a very nice guy...but he is not a striker ....Dugdale had a mare today , and not for the first time was found wanting....I have seen tankers fully laden turn quicker than him...So why I ask is Adams playing them...Surely with the players we have available there are better options...We cannot keep saying we are unlucky or didn't deserve it...the fact is we didn't score 4 today ..we conceded 4 ...We got exactly what we deserved which was nothing ....

Despite what we may thing about todays performance both JFH and their local paper stated the score line flattered them, indeed JFH also thought the missed penalty was crucial especially as they were under intense pressure at the time.

The difference was their ability to finish when given the opportunity.

It has been posted elsewhere about the performance or more correctly, lack of it by the main stand linesman but, the referee wasn't much better.

Why did he not book their defender for the foul leading to the penalty, as he was subsequently booked for kicking the ball off the penalty spot.He bottled given a second penalty not long after for hand ball which, IMO was as blatant.

We need to win all four remaining home games as a minimum which, considering we have lost the last three is a tall order.

Our central defenders have been a problem all season. Ourbest option has been injured for most of the season.Dugdale like Holness was something of a cult figure to the supporters of their previous club but neither seemed to have convinced their previous manager. At the time I posted that Sharp would have been a better signing both in terms of ability and experience.
We are not yet doomed but on current evidence and fixtures to come it is difficult to pick two teams that will finish below us
