Former Bury and Hamilton Academicals defender joins Rovers after a successful trial during pre-season......
Former Bury and Hamilton left-back David Buchanan has signed a one-year contract with Tranmere Rovers after a successful trial with club.
The 25-year old was released by Hamilton following their relegation from the SPL last season and joined Rovers on trial in July, playing in the fixtures against Prestatyn and Marine.
After impressing manager Les Parry, the player has today signed a one-year contract at Prenton Park and will provide competition for a first team place to Zoumana Bakayogo.
Born in Rochdale, Buchanan made his debut for Bury during the 2004/05 season after coming through the youth ranks at Bolton Wanderers.
He went on to make 225 appearances for the Shakers before joining Hamilton in 2010. However, he only stayed with the Scottish club for one season, making 30 appearances and scoring once before being released following their relegation.
He has also represented Northern Ireland at U19 and U21 level though he is yet to play for the country at senior level.
any truth in the giveme football/talksport
websites looking at versatile/left back Danny Holmes being wanted by Liverpool. With John McMahon around whats he been saying to kenny
Danny Holmes had seen this article but hadn't a chance to find out about it's validity last night when we spoke to him but I beleive his agent is saying it is true.
i will be amazed if it is true if liverpool were really interest why did they not make a move before we signed him theres virtually no chance it is true
This sounds about as likely as Tranmere being bought by Lord Lucan.
Even if it was remotely true, what would happen? Tranmere just signed him, so whilst a nice £250,000 or more would be good, (I doubt he'd sell for that much right now), what would it say about Tranmere, selling someone they signed about a month ago?
Basically that Tranmere are so financially desperate they'll sell players as soon as they walk in the door.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
if liverpool sign ex tns danny holmes i will give 1 weeks voluntary work ,plus a donation to charity.theres more chance of me playing upfront for rovers(i,m 60 in a few weeks)
Is that you wishing they'd build a Tescos next to Prenton Park, because £100,000 would probably be enough to build four walls, a roof, one checkout and a little diddy meat counter, but I suspect not much more, also factoring in the money you'd have to pay the Albanian builders .
Kay is good at this level, but he still needs a bit of competition and though Weir has played right back I doubt he's it.

Great news for us if its true. Just sell him and get the money. Good business. No offence to Holmes, but (from what i have seen) Kay is better and Raven is proven at this level.
Cannot see it being true in the slightest though. Why would liverpool want our reserve full back? I know Glenn Johnson is not a defender, but still!
