Cult figure and club captain Ian Goodison joined Tranmere Rovers in 2004 when Brian Little was manager of the club.

The former Hull City and Seba United (Jamaica) player started his Rovers career as a left-back and put in many indifferent performances for the club in that position.  When Ronnie Moore was appointed manager in 2006 however, his Tranmere career was transformed, as the former Jamaican international was switched to centre-back and soon became a huge fan favourite at Prenton Park.

A virtual ever present since, Goodison has been a consistent performer for the club over a number of years and is currently the clubs longest serving player.

Often putting his body on the line for Tranmere, Goodison has played through several injuries and has won a number of Player of the Season awards in his time at Prenton Park.

In six years on the Wirral, the 37-year old (38 in November 2010), has made 286 appearances for Tranmere (before the start of the 2010/11 season), scoring six goals in the process.
