The half time period saw a comical part of the match for me as my mate watched in disgust as a bird let its waste onto his leg. After this happening twice (once again in second half) he decided to move down a row and more undercover with the roof.
Anyway back to the match, and Rovers came out like the first half, pumped up but no product. Shane Sherriff who had been inconsistent in the first half, sent Chris Shuker on his bike for a deep ball in the first minute but this time to latch on to a header which he failed to get any decent power behind, the Forest keeper taking that in the bread basket all day.
Tranmere continued to assert for the key equaliser which would do the morale a world of good and a second could be then on the cards. Greenacre kept pushing with Ian Moore, making the Forest defenders hurry in their clearances and try and force an error to which they could capitalise on.
Forest couldn't find a minute to settle and re shape with their formation but a quick counter attack from a Rovers corner led to the second goal, and affectively killed the game with still more than 30 minutes to go.
A quickly taken free kick from the left hand side 52 minutes by Chris Cohen was just perfect for the advancing Wes Morgan, the big central defender climbing tallest to power a looping header into Coyne's goal and make sure that the three points were going back down the M5.
However, in defending Rovers they only thing which could be said in their favour is that Morgan was on his way up in the air as Kay was on his way down, simply judging the ball better. The cross has to be said was right on the money and deserved to be attacked.

From then on in, it was cat and mouse, Tranmere could afford to throw everything to try and get back into the game, while Nottingham Forest were happy to hit us on the break and try make the scoreline more emphatic than it already was.
Ronnie Moore decided to make some changes with the game dead and buried. Steve Davies returning to the field to replace Shane Sherriff and youngster Craig Curran came on for the tired Chris Shuker respectively.
The game then petered out into a Forest win and the only clear chances were a Steve Davies free kick on 75 minutes, but that hit the wall and went for a corner. Tranmere had plenty of corners and opportunities in the game but just couldn't find that something else to unlock the back door.
Craig Curran looped a shot from six yards onto the roof of Smith's net on 85 minutes which at first seemed as though it was going to creep in.
The Forest fans were content with their side's performance and sang "Wembley" throughout the second half.
That was that, and Tranmere fans went home knowing it would need a huge slip up from Leeds to get into the playoffs. Hey, Next year could be our year.....
Post Match Information: Steve Jennings and Paul McLaren will both miss the game against Huddersfield next week through suspension after both picking up a fifth yellow card.
If you're going next week to the Galpharm Stadium enjoy the game, and enjoy the rest of the season with our beloved Tranmere Rovers
It has been a rollercoaster season and a top ten finish would be great to finish on a high.
